Harbour Village will be a new housing development, uplifted by green spaces, on the former Bevan’s Cement Works site. It will transform the land that stretches from the Hive to the Thames and from Grove Road to the Tarmac works into a vibrant place for everyone to enjoy, joining Northfleet to the Thames.
The current cliffs on the site will be softened into a slope extending from the Hive to the river. There will be about 532 new homes located on new roads and paths, 30% of which will be affordable homes. Behind Lawn Primary School and the Hive will be green spaces including a football pitch, a heritage park, a nature trail, a vantage point with views of the river and a new footbridge over the road to Tarmac. A community centre will be built near the river which will face onto a wide promenade offering room for events as well as a walking area stretching along the banks of the Thames.
