Transforming the riverside into an area that the local community can relax in and enjoy is one of the key elements of the Harbour Village project.

Starting at the junction with Grove Road a new wider pathway will go along the side of Robins Creek, past the community centre to the river. It will include a natural lookout pathway extending into Robins Creek.

Along the Thames, the promenade will be 4 metres and designed to meet the needs of the whole Northfleet community.

It will include terraced lawns providing casual seating, a natural play space, and an outdoor fitness space with gym-type equipment for adults and teenagers. There will also be a more formal square located on the riverside at the end of an extended Hive Lane.

Help us design your riverside area.

We are seeking ideas for creating community art in the paths and casual seating facilities throughout the promenade area. We want local people to tell us a theme they would like to be used which links to the Thames embankment at Northfleet. This could be local history, local wildlife, the local community, plants, or the working Thames….. We need your ideas!

Once a theme has been chosen images can then be sculpted into the hard surfaces. We would also like to hear which images you would like to be included! Tell us what you think by clicking here or visiting our Have Your Say page.
